For nearly thirty years, we have been pulling off miracles for some brands you'd more than recognize. At NASCAR, Times Square, MLS World Cup Championship, and a Wal-Mart or two along they way. And while it just so happened that we were on the production side of the business--the ones who pulled off some amazing magic to bring those sales pitches to life--turns out we're pretty good at running the whole show, too.
Since 2020, GEAUX has been crafting Sponsorship Activations, VIP Events, Brand Pop-Ups, Sampling Tours and B2B Experiences that make our clients wonder how they ever got along without us.
At the surface, we are just event guys (and gals, 'cause we're a WOB). But that's like saying the Titanic was just a boat.
And events were illegal, remember? But for nearly 15 years, Matt and Alyese Black had believed that their complimentary marketing talents were agency gold. When the world shut down, they got busy. Maybe it was the dumbest thing they could have done--starting an event company when the world was on house arrest--but today, it was the smartest decision they ever made.
Before you think, husband and wife team? How cute. Nope. These two are running a killer business, raising four kids, and still squeeze in a conversation on an occasional date night that is about something other than homework or the bottom line. Never underestimate the power of two people bound by God, the LSU Tigers, an underdog story of a company and one kid short of a basketball team.
They chose the name "GEAUX" because, while Alyese is from Louisiana (and who doesn't love a good word with an 'x' in it?!), it was Matt who came up with the name. It embodies action, direction, resilience, perseverance, the best college team in the country and a nod to a good 'ole Louisiana Saturday Night.
They say it's not the size of the tiger in the fight, but the size of the fight in the tiger. GEAUX was born, literally, in an impossible environment, against all odds, and with a daunting chance of survival. If there's ever a doubt of how far they are willing to go to succeed, take a quick look at where they've been, what's been accomplished in a short time, and you'll have nothing left to say except...

Meet The X Team
Matt graduated from Furman University, walked off the stage and into a box truck for a Bugles sampling tour and has never looked back. With nearly 30 years in the industry, he's seen it all, built most of it, and circum-engineered the rest. Brands like Pepsi, Subway, Prudential, Lyft, Frito-Lay, Toyota, General Mills, USOC, ConAgra Foods and dozens more have trusted him with their activation plans and he never disappoints. He is proud to hold the nickname 'Magic' from his fellow production crewe, but his favorite people call him Dad.
A stickler for a solid sales process and never one to shy away from a creative challenge, Alyese has blazed her career as a sales/marketing executive in the days when door-to-door copier sales was worthy of a badge of honor. In her GEAUX Era, she's putting an exclamation point on the irony of defining a better client experience in an experiential marketing relationship.
